Rules and Regulations of ‘Library Card'

 

Library and Resources Center

Green University of Bangladesh has excellent, state-of-the-art multimedia facilities. Students have access to library, photocopying, word-processing, printing services. GUB Library makes available the prescribed texts and references for each subject, as well as additional resources.

 

Material is available for loan as well as reference purposes. Private study areas are available. GUB provides access to the appropriate software required to ensure successful learning outcomes in each subject. Library is in the 4th floor of the University Building of GUB. It has a user-friendly open-stack easy access system. The library provides up-to-date information to students, researchers and teachers.

 

Green University has a rich library equipped with a variety of books on the academic programs offered as well as on research and extra-curricular activities on different topics and events.

 

The library resources cover many discipline, such as business, law, management, computer science, economics, environmental studies, English language and literature, history, culture, information technology, psychology, religion, sociology, mathematics, statistics, engineering, architecture, etc. The total number of books are increasing everyday. The GUB library subscribes substantial number of daily newspapers, magazines, fortnightly, and research journals. Different titles of news-clippings on current subjects related to the curricula as well as socio-economic aspects, national and international affairs will also be readily available for keeping the readers up-dated.

 

The library will have a seating capacity of 80 students and shelf space of over 10,000 volumes. It has separate reference and journals sections, which is one of the most up-to-date library in the country.

 

GUB is going to be a member of JSTOR on-line Archive (www.jstor.org). JSTOR is an organization committed to the electronic archiving of scholarly journals and literature. Computers, which provide on-line access to internet, are also located in the library. The Library has a wide range of books, research titles and periodicals on various subjects, a vast supply of videotapes, newspapers, magazines and journals. Arrangements for viewing video films on various subjects are also provided. The Library functions throughout the year and offers a silent, disciplined and learning atmosphere. This wide range of database resources which meets the needs of the students and academicians is managed by a professionally qualified librarian.

Rules and Regulations of ‘Library Card'

  • Your First Library Card is free. Replacement of a lost or damaged card is Tk. 200.00

  • The Library Card is not transferable.

  • You are responsible for all materials borrowed with your library card.

  • Always remember to bring your library card when visiting the library.

  • If you lose your Library Card, you must inform the library at once. Then we can Block Further lending and   prevent misuse of your card.

  • However, you can borrow books temporarily, showing your ID card.                     

  • The books or materials can only be borrowed for 07(Seven) days.

  • The books or materials can be renewed if others do not reserved it, and your maximum lending period cannot exceed 10 days even after renewal.                 

  • If you lose or damage borrowed books or materials, it must be replaced.             

  • The computer and audio/ video materials of the library are used on your own  responsibility. 

  • Overdue fines are Tk. 5.00 per day.
