Professor Dr. Anwarullah
Chowdhury, an eminent scholar and former Vice-Chancellor of
University of Dhaka & Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bahrain has
joined as Vice-Chancellor of the Green University of Bangladesh
on 23rd February, 2008. The Hon’ble Chairman of the
Governing Council of Green University of Bangladesh, Professor
Dr A.K.M. Fazlul Haque and Professor Dr. Mokbul Ahmed Khan,
Hon’ble Vice-Chairman and Treasurer of the Green University of
Bangladesh have accorded him cordial reception. Professor
Chowdhury served many important position, namely,
Vice-Chancellor, University of Dhaka, Member, University Grants
Commission, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bahrain, Visiting
Professor, Minnesota State University in USA, Visiting fellow,
University of Sussex, UK and Dean, Faculty of Social Science and
former Founder Chairman, Anthropology Department of Dhaka
University. Professor Chowdhury has about 15 books and numerous
articles published in several local and foreign Journals. He has
got his Master’s Degree with honors in Sociology from Dhaka
University and Ph.D from Delhi School of Economics. Moreover, he
is an eminent Columnist of the Ittefaq and other dailies.
To-date, about 20 students got Ph.D and M. Phil degrees under
his supervision.
